Terms of Service
Last updated: July 2026
1. Acceptance of these terms
By creating an account or using Protolab, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.
2. Your account
You are responsible for the activity on your account and for keeping your login details secure. You must provide accurate information and be old enough to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction.
3. Publishing prototypes
Makers must own or have the right to share the prototypes they publish and must provide a genuinely free try. You may never require a "Like", a "Save", or any other engagement on Protolab as a condition for unlocking your invite code. The only thing you may ask for before revealing a code is, at most, a user's email address — nothing else. You are responsible for the accuracy of your listing and for honoring the free try you offer.
4. Handling user emails responsibly
If you collect user email addresses to unlock your invite code, you must use them only to follow up about the specific prototype the user unlocked, handle them securely, and comply with all applicable data-protection and anti-spam laws. Spam, harmful, deceptive, or abusive communications are strictly prohibited, as is selling, renting, or sharing collected emails with any third party. Misuse of user emails may result in immediate and permanent account suspension or removal.
5. Community conduct
Likes, saves, and comments should reflect honest experiences. Don't post spam, harass others, upload unlawful content, or attempt to manipulate the leaderboard through fake activity.
6. Content and ownership
You keep ownership of the content you post. By posting, you grant Protolab a non-exclusive license to display and distribute that content for the purpose of operating the platform.
7. Invite codes and third-party sites
Invite codes are used on makers' own websites or apps, which are outside of Protolab's control. We are not responsible for the prototypes themselves or for anything that happens on external sites or apps.
8. Disclaimer
Protolab is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. Prototypes are early-stage by nature and may be incomplete, unstable, or change at any time.
9. Enforcement
Breaking these terms — including requiring likes or saves to unlock a code, or misusing user emails — may lead to content removal and suspension or permanent removal of your account, at our discretion.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of Protolab after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
